Ian Abrahams shares David Moyes sack update after speaking to West Ham United manager at Brighton
West Ham United have no intention of sacking David Moyes despite Saturday’s gutless performance at Brighton, according to talkSPORT broadcaster Ian Abrahams.
The Hammers’ 4-0 defeat at the AMEX Stadium didn’t see them drop into the Premier League’s relegation zone but they’re not just two points clear of the foot of the table despite spending over £150million this season.
West Ham’s away fans turned on Moyes on the south coast, vocally declaring they want the Scotsman to be sacked due to the club’s struggles.

Abrahams spoke to Moyes after the defeat at Brighton and he’s since shared an update on the situation, saying that the Irons manager is going nowhere at this stage.
“As several other journalists are reporting this morning, my information is, despite yesterday’s defeat, worst of the season for West Ham, there is no intention to replace David Moyes, who retains the full support of those who run the club,” said Abrahams via his personal Twitter account on Sunday morning (5 March).
Stubbornness?
Whether or not West Ham sack Moyes is down to the board, ultimately.
And due to the death of David Gold, David Sullivan probably has more say than anyone about the situation while Daniel Kretisnky’s input could be being overridden by Sullivan.
Who knows what’s happening behind the scenes?
Either way, we get the reasons for keeping Moyes.
He’s been our best manager in a long time and he’s saved us from a relegation battle before so there’s a chance that he could pull a rabbit out of the hat and do it again.
However, it also seems as though a lot of money has been wasted on players with West Ham reverting to their old ways of splashing the cash on players who just don’t cut it.
What happened to picking up hidden gems like Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal for peanuts? Or picking up top-quality Championship players like Jarrod Bowen?
Moyes seems to have lost his touch, unfortunately.
It’s sad because we don’t want him to go but what other option is there right now?
