Harry Redknapp warns West Ham United could still be sucked into Premier League relegation battle
Harry Redknapp has warned that West Ham could still be sucked into the Premier League relegation battle despite their 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
The Hammers fought back from 2-0 down at the London Stadium to earn a vital point and move four clear of the drop zone with eight games remaining, including their game in hand on teams around them.
But with a huge Premier League fixture against fellow relegation battlers Bournemouth on Sunday (23 April), Redknapp told the UTCIAD Youtube Channel (17 April) they must beware of being sucked back into a battle when they face an in-form Cherries side.
“Yeah they [West Ham] should be okay,” he said.
“If they don’t pick up a couple of results or some points.. Bournemouth is not an easy game so West Ham could have a difficult couple of games and that could put them right back in the mix again.
“You never know. One minute you’re out of it, the next minute you’re in it again. I think Bournemouth have got momentum and are playing great.
“They’re almost there with 33 points and a win would be enough. I think Bournemouth will get out of it for sure, but West Ham could still get sucked into it.”
Consistency
The problem West Ham have had all season is a lack of goals and an even greater lack of consistency in performances.
The draw against Arsenal was excellent and displayed the quality and character we have in the squad, but if we go to the Vitality Stadium and get turned over by Bournemouth this week it will have meant nothing.

West Ham cannot afford to be inconsistent with their performances any more because we are running out of time to set things straight if they go wrong.
This team should be absolutely nowhere near the relegation zone with the quality of player in it and the money spent on the squad, but performances haven’t been good enough.
There must be a mentality now that separates them from the pack to move away from trouble, or it could be a really horrible end of season run-in for all involved at West Ham.
