Harry Redknapp raves about ‘frightening’ West Ham star

Harry Redknapp has been gushing over West Ham forward Michail Antonio after he scored his second goal of the season at the weekend.

Antonio, 30, netted his 40th West Ham goal in the 3-0 victory against Leicester to help move the Hammers up to 10th in the Premier League standings.

It has been a tough few months to be a West Ham supporter but the form of Antonio has been something that has consistently put smiles on fans’ faces this year.

Since football restarted after the coronavirus-enforced break, Antonio has scored 10 goals in 14 Premier League appearances.

Ex-West Ham player and manager Redknapp is delighted by what he has seen from the former Nottingham Forest man.

“What a good player he’s turned out to be. What a handful he is. Oh my god,” Redknapp said on Sky Sports News on Monday night, as shown via Football Daily’s Twitter account.

“He’s frightening. [He’s got] power, ability, skill, he scores goals.

“What a threat to any defence.”

Redknapp’s right – Antonio has it all.

During his time as a Hammers player, Antonio has been played as a right-back, right-winger and now a centre-forward.

He is as complete a player as you can get and most Premier League clubs would be lucky to have someone who is as versatile as the former Sheffield Wednesday star.

Antonio is the biggest asset that David Moyes has in his squad at the moment and we hope that he can continue his goalscoring form after the international break is over when West Ham take on Tottenham in a huge London derby match.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers showed an interest in this Chelsea defender before the transfer window closed.
