Harry Redknapp names West Ham United duo Declan Rice and Danny Ings in Premier League team of the week
Harry Redknapp has named Declan Rice and Danny Ings in his Premier League team of the week after West Ham claimed a 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
The Hammers moved out of the relegation zone with a big win at the London Stadium, with Ings netting a brace and Rice also getting on the scoresheet alongside Michail Antonio.
And after the big win helped to alleviate some of the pressure on David Moyes’ job too, Redknapp named the English pair in his team of the week when talking to BetVictor (27 February) and admitted he enow expects the team to climb the table.

“I seem to pick Declan Rice all the time, what a top player he’s become,” he said.
“It was a typical Declan Rice performance against Forest, he was everywhere. The only area he can improve on is adding a few more goals to his game, and he did just that at the weekend.
“That was a lovely strike from him, and if he keeps that up, there won’t be many better in that position in world football.
“Danny Ings has always been a player who knows where the goal is, he looks a great bit of business for West Ham.
“He’s a natural striker and will always pick up good positions in the box. His two goals at the weekend won’t win any competitions but they were typical striker goals.
“West Ham should climb the table now and I can see Ings scoring a bunch more goals between now and the end of the season.”

About time
Ings has had it tough since joining the club in January, picking up an injury on his debut and not being fully fit until the weekend, but he showed exactly why Moyes splashed out on bringing him in from Aston Villa.
His natural goalscorer instinct and his movement were on show in the game and it’s exactly what West Ham have been missing this season.
Gianluca Scamacca’s injury problems have been well noted but having the two of them as options should see us score far more goals now and help us climb up the table.
As for Rice, we’ve run out of superlatives for the skipper and there is little more that can be said about him that hasn’t already been mentioned.
He is world class and one of the very best in the world, and it’s going to leave a gaping hole in our midfield when he eventually leaves the club.
