Harry Redknapp names West Ham United defender Thilo Kehrer in team of the week
Harry Redknapp has named West Ham ace Thilo Kehrer in his Premier League team of the week after his performance in the win against Wolves.
The German international was shifted to right-back to allow for the return of Craig Dawson in the centre of defence and had a stellar showing as the Hammers kept their second clean sheet of the season for three points.
And after a tough start to life in England, former Irons manager Redknapp told BetVictor [3 October] that he sees the former Paris Saint-Germain man as “one to keep an eye on” going forward.

“He’s starting to settle into life at the London Stadium,” he said.
“I was impressed with his work defensively, but as he grows in confidence, he looks like he’ll provide a bit of an attacking threat as well. One to keep an eye on.”
Quality
The performance on Saturday night was the type of showing that many West Ham fans had been hoping for from Kehrer since he signed, and we finally got it but from right-back.
He was dominant in the air, showed great speed to help cover and was physically imposing against a Wolves attack that has struggled this season in fairness.
But going forward he was also able to provide a threat and had the energy to get up and down the pitch too, something that fans have held against Vladimir Coufal in recent weeks.
It makes the team much stronger having a settled partnership at the back and Kehrer has shown for Germany that he is competent in that role and Moyes is obviously happy to play him there.
Now with some good momentum behind them they must carry that into the Europa Conference League clash with Anderlecht on Thursday, with Kehrer knowing the position is now his to lose.
