Harry Redknapp gushes over Thilo Kehrer after what he did in West Ham United win v Manchester United
Harry Redknapp has led a rave review of West Ham United defender Thilo Kehrer after his performance in the 1-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday (7 May).
David Moyes’ side all but confirmed their Premier League safety when claiming victory at the London Stadium, moving seven points clear of the relegation zone with just three games of their season remaining.
Kehrer has struggled for consistent form since signing for the Hammers from PSG last summer, but Redknapp praised the defender for his versatility and ability to keep England attacker Marcus Rashford quiet during the match.

When writing in his column for BetVictor, the former West Ham United manager named Kehrer, as well as Declan Rice, in his team of the week.
“I loved that West Ham performance against United, and Thilo Kehrer was right at the heart of it,” he said.
“I like this lad; he impressed me a lot.
“He had to keep Rashford quiet and did a great job all game. He’s a great athlete, and I like his versatility, he can play anywhere across the defence.”

Coming into his own.
Kehrer has taken his time to adjust to the Premier League since moving from the French champions last summer, but it finally feels like the defender is coming into his own in a Hammers top.
Starting in a slightly unfamiliar right-back role against Manchester United, the German international highlighted his versatility, completing 85% of his passes and winning five out of his six ground duels. [Sofascore]
He was given possibly one of the toughest assignments in the Premier League in coming up against Rashford on the wing, with the Englishman’s blistering pace causing defences problems all season long.
However, Kehrer marshalled the 25-year-old extremely well and has put his hand up to play this position in the upcoming Europa Conference League semi-final against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday (11 May).
Whether Moyes will decide to play a back-five or stick to a four-man defence is debatable, but Kehrer is now extremely likely to feature either way.
