Harry Redknapp delivers transfer of summer verdict on West Ham United ace James Ward-Prowse

Harry Redknapp believes that West Ham star James Ward-Prowse and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison have been the signings of the summer.

The Hammers had to deal with the loss of Declan Rice over the summer and Ward-Prowse was one of three new faces in that department.

While Mohammed Kudus can play in a plethora of positions, he has operated as a number 10 but may feature out wide or up front for the Hammers.

Redknapp told Claret and Hugh, “He’s good at everything he does and beyond that is a terrific lad. In my opinion, he and James Maddison have been the signings of the summer window.”

Ward-Prowse is one of the players that seems like an obvious fit for a David Moyes team.

The Scotsman prioritises dead-ball situations and it’s no surprise that the Hammers always appear to be a threat from set pieces.

Ward-Prowse has arguably been the best set piece taker in the Premier League for the last three seasons and his relegation meant he was easily attainable.

Redknapp makes a fair shout for the signing of the summer as he’s hit the ground running and become undroppable for Moyes.

Hopefully, he stays injury free as he can soon grow into one of the leaders at the London Stadium.

The Hammers have done well this summer in the midfielder department but not signing a striker may be a big mistake.

In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open to leaving his side this summer.
