Guilherme proud to share what he really thinks of West Ham United teammate Paqueta
Luis Guilherme has expressed his gratitude towards West Ham United teammates Lucas Paqueta and Emerson.
Guilherme made his debut for the Irons in their 4-1 Premier League win against Ipswich Town on Saturday (5 October).
The 18-year-old is thankful to West Ham’s Brazilian contingent for helping him settle in at the club after his arrival in the summer.
Speaking to West Ham’s in-house media on Tuesday (8 October), Guilherme said: “Lucas [Paqueta] and Emi [Emerson] have given me a lot.
“They are great players, and I’m proud to say they’re good friends too.
“They’ve helped me so much since I arrived, and I’ve had the pleasure to have gotten to know them quite well.
“I thank them for their support, and hopefully, bit by bit, I can give back to the team.”
Lucas Paqueta and Luis Guilherme help West Ham bounce back from rut
West Ham had a busy summer transfer window, bringing in nine new players, including Guilherme, for over £120 million [The Athletic, 20 September].
However, they have had a rather poor start to the season, winning only one of their first six league games, and went into their home game against Ipswich on the back of a five-game winless run.
Paqueta and Guilherme helped the Hammers get out of the rut as they emerged 4-1 winners at the weekend.
Paqueta scored West Ham’s fourth and final goal in the 69th minute, while Guilherme replaced Mohammed Kudus late in the game.

During his nine minutes on the pitch, the teenager registered two touches, played one pass, won a ground duel and earned his team a free-kick, as per Sofascore.
West Ham signed Guilherme from Palmeiras for a deal worth £25.3 million in the summer.
Although the teenager is highly rated, he has had to bide his time to get an opportunity under Julen Lopetegui.
Having had his first taste of Premier League football, Guilherme will now be determined to earn more minutes in the coming weeks.
