
Graham Potter ‘will be fired’ at West Ham as serious update drops from London Stadium
West Ham fell to another dismal defeat at the London Stadium as Crystal Palace won 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday.
Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell scored either side of Jarrod Bowen’s second-half strike to hand the visitors all three points and pile more pressure on Graham Potter.
Potter has lost four of his five Premier League games so far this season, and West Ham fans booed him at the London Stadium as frustrations boiled over.
West Ham spent heavily late in the transfer window after a frustrating summer, but performances and results have not improved, and Potter is now under serious pressure.

Potter’s football has been dire to watch since he replaced Julen Lopetegui last year, and the Englishman is now all but set to lose his job.
Jacob Steinberg has now reported in The Guardian that Potter “will be fired” if results don’t improve rapidly, with the board mulling over their final decision.

It is reported that the Irons have already started identifying replacements for Potter, who has struggled to make an impact in less than a year at the London Stadium.
Fans are deeply frustrated with West Ham owners David Sullivan and Karren Brady, but that does not make Potter blameless in their struggles, and he is now likely to be replaced.

It is also reported that Nuno Espirito Santo has been contacted by West Ham as a potential replacement for Potter following his surprise sacking from Nottingham Forest.
Former hero Slaven Bilic has also been touted as an option for a shock return, having led West Ham to Europe in the final season at Upton Park a decade ago.
Gary O’Neil is out of work after being sacked by Wolves last season, and it is reported that he is open to joining West Ham now should they make him an offer.
Remarkably, Oliver Glasner now has more wins at the London Stadium than Potter after Palace’s win, which sums up the different directions the two clubs have gone in over the last two years.
