Graham Potter will anger West Ham fans again after what he said about Tottenham loss

West Ham fell apart in the second half as they lost 3-0 against Tottenham on Saturday.

The Hammers have now lost three of their four Premier League games 11-1 on aggregate, and their defence has continued to be poor.

After Nayef Aguerd joined Marseille and was replaced by Igor Julio, supporters had hoped that their woes at the back had been put to bed.

Despite how poor the Irons were in all departments against their North London rivals, Graham Potter has still somehow tried to find positives from the crushing defeat.

‘We have to focus on the positives‘ – Graham Potter

West Ham fans have called for Potter to be sacked after an awful start to the 2025/26 campaign.

Things haven’t gone well for the Hammers, with no firepower up front and no defensive stability.

Niclas Fullkrug’s injury for Germany has left them short in attack, and Callum Wilson was only fit enough to make the bench against Spurs.

Despite having no quality in the final third, Potter has still praised his side.

“Cry’s [Summerville] performance was good – I think he and Malik had a really good combination down the left,” he said after the game.

“I thought Kyle [Walker-Peters] and Jaz [Bowen] combined well on the right. Mateus [Fernandes] and Lucas [Paqueta] linked well in the first half. I think we have to focus on the positives from the first half.”

Stats from West Ham vs Tottenham

Summerville was one of the few bright sparks against Tottenham as he continued to show his value after coming back from injury against Nottingham Forest.

However, his turn in form still wasn’t enough to sort out the Hammers’ attacking insecurities.

How much longer could Graham Potter have left?

Potter’s denial of their poor showing against Spurs will anger fans.

The Irons host Crystal Palace next time out, and the London Stadium could again become a toxic place should West Ham get off to a slow start.

Potter faces an uphill battle, with games against Everton and Arsenal also waiting for them at the end of the month.

With a difficult set of fixtures coming up, there is a high likelihood that the Irons will lose all three, and Potter will be without a job by the end of the month.
