Graham Potter set for ‘another big pay-off’ courtesy of David Sullivan – Richard Keys

Graham Potter could be set for a financial boost at the hands of West Ham owner David Sullivan, according to Richard Keys.

West Ham lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace on Saturday, marking the Hammers’ fifth loss in just six games across all competitions this season.

Jarrod Bowen had equalised after Jean-Philippe Mateta’s opener, but it would be Tyrick Mitchell who claimed the winner for the visitors.

Danny Murphy suggested that Potter will have to find some wins quickly, but whether the manager is even afforded that much time is in doubt.

Potter is facing the sack at West Ham, and a loss against Everton at the end of the month could well spell the end of a disastrous nine months at the London Stadium for the Englishman.

Richard Keys slams Graham Potter amid West Ham troubles

West Ham fans turned on Potter in the aftermath of the Crystal Palace loss, as tensions boiled over at the London Stadium.

Many appeared not to have shown up at all, with dozens of empty seats visible throughout the game.

But those who were there made sure their frustrations were heard, after what was yet another poor performance from Potter’s side.

Corners again had their say at both ends, with Crystal Palace finding their opener after Mateta bundled in, before Bowen got on the end of El Hadji Malick Diouf’s delivery to level.

But there was little from West Ham after they had found the goal, with Mitchell left alone in the box to volley home the winner.

The Hammers sit 18th in the Premier League, having already conceded 13 goals in just five games.

Speaking on beIN SPORTS on Saturday, Keys suggested that Potter may have lost any motivation to recover the situation.

“He won’t mind. It’s another big pay-off for him,” Keys said. “He sat on his backside for two years after leaving Chelsea.”

West Ham should put Graham Potter out of his misery

The 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest looked as if it could spark a turnaround for Potter’s side, but performances since have been even worse, if anything.

The Hammers may well not have turned up against Tottenham, and Saturday’s loss lacked any fighting spirit at all.

Potter’s sacking now looks inevitable, and delaying it will only further plunge West Ham towards the bottom of the Premier League and give the next manager a more difficult recovery job.

David Sullivan may be the second-least unpopular man in East London for once at the moment, and the businessman must now make what will be a popular decision.
