Graham Potter says ‘incredible’ West Ham star is a ‘dream’ to work with
Graham Potter has seen some pressure ease on his future at West Ham.
The Hammers boss came under scrutiny at the London Stadium after three league defeats on the bounce were followed by West Ham’s 3-2 loss to Wolves in the Carabao Cup.
Unsurprisingly, there were fears for Potter’s future in E20 as a result of this form, especially when Jose Mourinho emerged as a potential West Ham target.
It now appears that the Englishman is safer in his job after West Ham secured a 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest in ideal fashion.
This has allowed the 50-year-old to speak out more positively to the media, something that has resulted in a glowing review of a key squad member.

Graham Potter says Jarrod Bowen is a ‘dream’ to work with
It won’t come as a surprise to anyone assosiated with the claret and blue outfit that Bowen is held in such high esteem in East London right now.
The Hammers skipper has been a beacon of light for the Irons over the year, something that was on show again as Bowen netted the opening goal against Nottingham Forest.
This was the England international’s first strike of the campaign, having previously picked up an assist against Wolves in the cup clash.
With that being said, the forward’s performances have still been of a level that has seen him maintain his stature as one of the Hammers’ best players in recent years.
Stat | Jarrod Bowen |
Appearances | 242 |
Goals | 75 |
Assists | 47 |
Potter echoed that sentiment on 11 September in his pre-match press conference, showcasing his love for Bowen ahead of the clash against Tottenham.
He said: “I mean, he’s a goal threat. That’s what Jarrod is. His finish against Forest was very high level, it’s incredible. The way he takes it so early, his movement, he’s a killer around the box.
“He’s also been a fantastic captain, a great leader. He’s been a dream to work with, to be honest. Everyone knows how important he is to us.”
Jarrod Bowen is priceless for West Ham
It is fair to say before a late flurry of transfer business, the Hammers were in the running to be relegated from the Premier League this season.
With that being said, keeping hold of Bowen has to be seen as a huge coup for the claret and blue side moving deeper into the campaign.
It is clear how much Potter likes the Englishman and how much of a positive impact he has on the squad and its performances.
His finish at the City Ground was pure class and proved exactly how good he is and how much of an impact the forward can have in dragging the E20 club away from the bottom three.
