Graham Potter sack news: West Ham fights break out behind the scenes

Graham Potter’s tenure as West Ham boss could come to an end before the new campaign gets underway after a bust-up between the squad.

West Ham have endured a horrid season, and their recent form has seen concern grow more and more at the London Stadium.

The Hammers haven’t tasted victory in seven games, with their most recent win coming against relegated Leicester City back in February.

That lack of form has seen Potter’s credentials be questioned more and more, and his recent comments about Tottenham have done nothing to ease that, nor will the reported fights behind the scenes.

West Ham players fight behind the scenes

Potter is under increasing pressure to keep his job at West Ham, having done nothing to steer the Irons away from the current trajectory which was started by Julen Lopetegui.

In fact, things have arguably got worse since he arrived at the London Stadium, and according to a report from The New York Times (4 May), Potter still has faith from the board to turn things around, though there have been fights between players at the London Stadium.

West Ham have been dreadful this season.

West Ham club insiders have admitted that the pressure is being felt, leaving Potter with a huge amount of work to do if he is to change the morale.

With a clash against Tottenham rapidly approaching, anything other than a win will do nothing but expose the cracks among the Irons even further and pile even more pressure on the under-fire Hammers boss.

West Ham need change this summer

Potter certainly looks like a defeated man, with his entire demeanour after the recent defeat to Brighton showcasing the frustration that is present at the London Stadium.

Whether he is the man to change that is up for debate, but regardless of the decision made on his future, West Ham have a huge summer ahead, and they need to get it right.

Recruitment will be paramount to any hopes of progression, something which has been nothing but a distant fantasy throughout the current campaign.
