Graham Potter reservations emerge already amid West Ham board frustration
West Ham have endured a miserable season after beginning the campaign with high expectations, and big changes are needed.
David Moyes left at the end of last season as West Ham fans wanted the team to go in a different direction, but Julen Lopetegui’s appointment proved to be a disaster.
Graham Potter came in but results have gotten worse, and there is a strong chance West Ham will finish 17th in the Premier League this season, having started expecting to challenge for Europe.
Anger has been directed at the West Ham board and majority shareholder David Sullivan for years, but even they are unhappy with how the season has gone.

West Ham board had reservations over Potter
The West Ham board have now communicated their frustrations over the season, and have also hinted that not everyone was keen to hire Potter to replace Lopetegui.
It is stated that the downturn in form began under Moyes, which led to his contract offer being withdrawn, ultimately leading to Lopetegui being hired and fired.
“West Ham’s board of directors are just as frustrated as everybody else with the last 18 months, adding they completely understand how supporters feel,” X user West Ham Football posted.

“Graham Potter took over the reins despite reservations by some on the senior leadership team at West Ham. He has only managed a poor 19% win ratio so far and 0.9 points per game.
“It is hoped that a full pre-season and a rebuild of the squad this summer will improve West Ham’s fortunes in terms of results and entertainment value next season.”
West Ham board are culpable for disaster season
West Ham have now had three different managers struggle over the last 12 months, and while Potter is underperforming at the moment, it is unfair to pin the blame wholly on him.
The Hammers won the Europa Conference League less than two years ago, and have spent fairly heavily in the transfer market since, although a lot of the spending power came from the record sale of Declan Rice.
The transfer strategy at the club has been confused since, and the disastrous squad building meant there was a huge outlay last summer for the team to get worse.
Even if Potter is eventually dismissed, the board and ownership will still be to blame as they keep setting coaches up to fail.
