Graham Potter ‘as good as gone’ as West Ham manager latest emerges from London Stadium
Graham Potter looks to be on his way out of West Ham after a disappointing nine months in charge.
The former Chelsea boss was appointed after Julen Lopetegui’s forgettable spell at West Ham, but has arguably been worse than his predecessor.
West Ham’s 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace has been part of a succession of failures during Potter’s time in East London.
It had been hoped that, following a full pre-season, the 50-year-old would be able to get his side up and running, but time is now running out.

Graham Potter ‘as good as gone’ – Ian Darke
Nuno Espirito Santos has been approached by West Ham, and appears to be one of the leading candidates should Potter be sacked.
However, Potter is expected to still be in charge of West Ham against Everton, but many figures around East London believe his time is up.
Iconic commentator Ian Darke believes that the manager’s future in East London is limited.
Writing on X, he said: “If West Ham are – as reported – ‘sounding out potential managers’, then Graham Potter is as good as gone.”
- Bilic had a points per game record of 1.33 at West Ham
- Potter’s is currently sitting at 1
- Nuno had a points per game of 1.77
The Hammers have also shown interest in reappointing Slaven Bilic, who impressed during his two-year spell.
The Croatian was appointed in 2015 and had two successful seasons before he was sacked in 2017, with his side flirting with the relegation zone.
However, Sullivan appears to be taking his time in making a decision on whether to part ways with Potter, which could put off potential candidates.
West Ham could be facing another crushing defeat vs Everton
With all of the noise going on around West Ham, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Hammers again fall short against Everton.
Potter’s side have already conceded three or more goals in three games this season, and the players will no doubt be losing faith in him.
The Toffees are in fine form going into the game, with Jack Grealish picking up the Player of the Month award for August.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Hammers concede three or more against the Blues, for the 22nd time since January 2024.
Should they fall to defeat, Sullivan will again be to blame.
