‘Graham Potter already has Kudus replacement’ after brand-new West Ham update

Mohammed Kudus has completed a move from West Ham to fierce rivals Tottenham.

The Ghanaian’s signing was announced by the North London club on Thursday (July 10), after a deal worth around £55million was agreed.

Kudus joined the Hammers in 2023, after the London club won a race to sign him from Ajax.

Crysencio Summerville hopes to return before season opener

Crysencio Summerville looked to be a very exciting signing for West Ham when the move was completed.

The winger had enjoyed a prolific season for Leeds in the Championship, netting 19 goals and providing nine assists as the Whites narrowly missed out on promotion.

Summerville had already shown glimpses of potential in the Premier League too, scoring in four consecutive matches in the 2023/24 season, including a late winner at Anfield.

But the 23-year-old never really managed to get going following his move to London.

Summerville thrived for Leeds

Stuck behind Kudus and Jarrod Bowen, Summerville was forced to bide his time before injury ruled him out of any further minutes.

But next season could present just the chance Summerville needs, with Kudus’ departure to Tottenham confirmed and the winger set to return to action sooner than expected, according to The Athletic (July 11).

After suffering setbacks in his recovery, the Dutchman underwent successful surgery in April and is now on the path to fitness.

According to the publication, Summerville hopes to return to first-team action in time for the latter stages of West Ham’s pre-season tour.

Kudus exit will give Summerville a chance

The majority of Summerville’s minutes for the Hammers last season came from the left side of the attack.

But the prominence of Kudus and Bowen often saw the Dutchman resigned to the bench, often chosen to make an impact in the latter stages.

Kudus’ move to Spurs would allow Summerville to take on a more important role, however, with the 23-year-old likely Graham Potter’s first choice to line up with Bowen.

And an early return to first-team action could set the forward up for a running start next season. After an extended absence, Summerville will hope the coming weeks can see him shake off the rust and enjoy a fresh start to his West Ham career.
