Graham Potter agent on way to London, West Ham announcement could come in hours
Graham Potter’s agent is on his way to London to finish the final bits of media work ahead of his move to West Ham United, according to Sean Whetstone.
The Hammers insider reported via his personal X account (8 January) that Potter’s announcement could come “as soon as this evening”.
Potter has been linked with multiple roles in management since his departure from Chelsea but now he finally seems set to take over from Julen Lopetegui at the London Stadium.
“Graham Potter’s agent John Morris from Wasserman is on his way to London to meet up with his client for final media work at the London Stadium prior to an official announcement which could come as soon as this evening,” Whetstone wrote.
Julen Lopetegui has been treated harshly by West Ham United
Although Lopetegui’s results this season have been far from ideal, it feels like David Sullivan and co. have treated the Spaniard fairly harshly in their pursuit to find a new manager.
The former Wolves boss hasn’t yet been relieved of his duties but the Hammers have already interviewed multiple candidates to take over his role.
Although it was unknown whether Potter would end up taking over at Everton or West Ham on Tuesday (7 January) after the latest updates that have emerged from the London Stadium on Wednesday, it feels like his takeover is almost imminent.

Lopetegui has been nothing but a gentleman with the Hammers, because, no matter what has been going on, the Spaniard still ended up taking West Ham’s training session on Wednesday morning even though his press conference was cancelled.
By Wednesday evening, it feels like West Ham will have a new boss at the helm which could perhaps spark the start of a new dawn in E20.
In other West Ham news, an “extraordinary” Lopetegui update has emerged from Rush Green on Wednesday, 8 January.
