Gianluca Scamacca pushes for West Ham United exit as David Moyes sack decision made
Gianluca Scamacca has endured an extremely tough start to life at West Ham United – and it’s now clear the Italian is trying to force a move elsewhere.
The Guardian’s Fabrizio Romano suggested (via Twitter, 16 June) that the 24-year-old is insistent on moving back to Italy with Roma interested.
“AS Roma have agreed personal terms with Gianluca Scamacca but West Ham have no intention to let him leave on loan, as things stand,” wrote Romano.

“Scamacca will insist to join Roma, while West Ham are waiting to find clubs to buy Scamacca on a permanent deal.”
Things haven’t worked out for the striker and it’s clear that the stewardship of David Moyes hasn’t been ideal for his development.
He moved to the London Stadium with a severely impressive resume in Italy. However, a lack of gametime, injuries, and poor form have held him back.
It’s believed the Hammers are set to stick by Moyes for the 2023/24 season (BBC Sport, 12 June) and that could well be why the Italian is clearly pushing for the exit door.

If another manager arrived – who played in a slightly less defensive way – there’s every chance of Scamacca finally fulfilling his potential in East London.
For now, it remains to be seen what will happen over the summer window. He wants out, but it would be a huge decision from the board if they decided to give up on their big-money addition.
Moyes’ future could well become a talking point next season, however, there was no way the board were going to relieve the Scot after the Conference League triumph.
Scamacca’s future is certainly one to watch over the next couple of weeks.
