Gary Neville: Spurs draw v Liverpool will strike fear into West Ham
Gary Neville believes Tottenham Hotspur could give West Ham a run for their money following Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Liverpool.
The Hammers are looking to finish in the top-four in 2021-22 after narrowly missing out last term, and they have started the campaign well, but the Sky Sports pundit is concerned Spurs could challenge them.
Antonio Conte’s men held Jurgen Klopp’s side to a draw in what was a pulsating clash yesterday (19 December), and the result saw them move within two points of the Irons, with two games in hand.

He said on the Gary Neville podcast: “Were this team over the hill and were they spent under Mauricio Pochettino and as good as it can get?
“But they’ve shown a performance today that can tell us they can really be competitive and push for the top four.
“It will strike a little bit of fear into Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, West Ham, all the others with aspirations to be up there. This Tottenham team are going to be real in the next four to five months.”
Another challenger?
The Gunners have already established themselves as credible top-four candidates of recent, with their victory over David Moyes’ men last time out taking them to fourth position.
They are four points ahead of the Hammers having played one more game, and the London Stadium outfit should be concerned.
Recent performances and results have not been good, and with the trio of Arsenal, Man Utd and Spurs starting to find their form, this would be a bad time for the Irons to lose theirs.

Injuries to their two first-choice centre-backs have proven devastating, and Michail Antonio’s struggles in front of goal have affected them.
The Jamaican international striker has gone eight league games without a goal, only assisting once in that period.
West Ham will need to make some quality additions to their ranks in January if they want to keep their top-four chances alive.
The battle for the Champions League spots is very fierce, and their current squad is starting to look short.
