Gary Neville praises ‘brilliant’ Said Benrahma moment in first half v Manchester United
Gary Neville was left in awe of a “brilliant” moment from Said Benrahma in the first half of West Ham United’s Premier League fixture against Manchester United.
The Algerian produced a moment of quality to spin away from three Manchester United players in a move which resulted in a shot for Gianluca Scamacca.
Neville was full of praise for the 27-year-old who was a live wire for the Hammers at Old Trafford.

“That was brilliant from Benrahma, it really was, look at that. That’s just brilliant skill at speed with three Manchester United shirts close to him,” he said (Sky Sports commentary, 16:32, 30 October).
Back in contention
Benrahma has played himself right back into contention this season after nearly being offloaded by the club in the summer after falling down the pecking order at the London Stadium (The Sun, 8 June).
Holding onto the 27-year-old has proven to be the right call by the club, with his dribbling ability and direct running causing opposition defenders all sorts of problems in the 2022/23 season. He is contracted to the club until the summer of 2026 and should be viewed as a play who will with West Ham for the long term.

Three goals and two assists this season is a decent return from the wide man, who could prove to be a valuable asset for David Moyes when West Ham hopefully enter the latter stages of the Europa Conference League.
Benrahma scored eleven goals and managed six assists in the 2021/22 season and considering his current form, there should be no reason why he can’t match that in this campaign.
