Gary Neville makes new West Ham relegation prediction after what he’s seen from four players

West Ham are fighting hard to stay in the Premier League.

West Ham agonisingly drew 1-1 with Man United on Tuesday, and they sit three points adrift of safety with 12 games to go.

Despite conceding a last-minute equaliser against the Red Devils, the Hammers have picked up 10 points from the last 15 available, and they are narrowly closing in on 17th-placed Nottingham Forest.

Gary Neville previously feared that West Ham would be relegated, but he has now completely changed his tune.

Gary Neville backs West Ham to stay up thanks to their attackers

When the Hammers suffered a 2-1 defeat to Forest at the London Stadium on 6 January, few supporters could believe that they would then go on such an impressive run ever since.

West Ham have recorded wins over Spurs, Sunderland and Burnley since that match and also stopped Man United’s four-game winning run.

West Ham’s 3-2 loss against Chelsea saw Nuno Espirito Santo’s side go 2-0 up before eventually crumbling in the second half.

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast on 12 February, Neville believes that their attackers could save them from dropping down to the Championship.

He said: “When I watched West Ham in that first half against Chelsea and then in the game against Man United, I think that they could be ok.

“The guys up front aren’t bad. [Crysencio] Summerville, [Jarrod] Bowen, [Taty] Castellanos and Pablo, they’re a handful, by the way.”

Although Pablo is now injured for the foreseeable future, the other three attackers have played a remarkable role in West Ham’s recent form.

Crysencio Summerville, Jarrod Bowen and Taty Castellanos can keep West Ham up

Summerville has been phenomenal for West Ham, and he was nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award in January as a result of his goalscoring form.

The Dutch winger has been a constant threat down the left-hand side, and Nuno is finally getting the best out of him after a slow start to his West Ham career.

As for Bowen, he has stepped up for the Hammers countless times over the years.

The captain’s eight league goals this season prove why he is still their most important player, and there is no doubt that his goal contributions over the next 12 games will have a big impact on West Ham’s future in the top flight.

Castellanos may have only scored twice in a West Ham shirt, but his work off the ball has been superb.

He brings both Summerville and Bowen into the game, and his levels of effort have not dropped below 100 per cent since joining from Lazio.

All three players definitely have what it takes to help the Hammers avoid relegation.
