Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and Ian Wright clash as West Ham v Manchester United result predicted

Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and Ian Wright have clashed after they predicted the result of West Ham United’s upcoming clash with Manchester United on Sunday.

The Hammers were held to a 1-1 draw by Bournemouth in midweek while Manchester United claimed a stunning 4-3 win over Wolves thanks to a 97th minute goal in their last outing.

And when asked to predict the result of Sunday’s game at Old Trafford for Super 6 on the ‘Stick to Football podcast‘ (1 February), Neville was adamant that his former side would get the win which sparked outrage from former Irons striker Wright.

“I think Man United.. we’re definitely winning that,” he said. “We’re definitely winning that.”

“What?” Wright responded, in shock. “Definitely?”

Neville reiterated his “definitely” answer and asked if Wright agreed.

“No,” he said. Roy Keane then picked a 2-1 Man United win for him and Wright’s team, and the former Arsenal star admitted, “I wouldn’t have gone with that.”

Carragher disagreed with Wright too, going for a 1-0 home win while Neville settled on a 2-0 home win.

Premier League table doesn’t lie

The Premier League table doesn’t lie, and right now it says that West Ham are a better team than Man United this season.

The injury issues at the London Stadium are beginning to ease up with Jarrod Bowen in the side and Mohammed Kudus back from AFCON. Michail Antonio is pushing for a return soon, while Maxwel Cornet and Danny Ings are also available to David Moyes.

Manchester United have showed glimpses of their quality this season but most of the time it has come against teams leaving lots of space in behind for their attackers to run into, and West Ham just simply won’t do that.

The win just after Christmas showed that the Hammers have the perfect style of play to dominate against them and get positive results, and there’s no reason why they can’t do it again at Old Trafford.

Neville and Carragher should know better than to be so confident about Man United this season, and hopefully the team can prove Wright right and shut them all up for a while.
