Gary Neville and Ian Wright clash over West Ham United vs Wolves prediction

Gary Neville and Ian Wright clashed over their predictions for the West Ham Premier League game with Wolves this weekend.

The Hammers held Tottenham to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday night while Wolves drew 1-1 with Burnley on the same night, while both sides will be looking to boost their chances of a good finish in the Premier League this season.

While appearing on the Stick to Football podcast (4 April) the panel were asked to make their predictions for the game and disagreed, which led to a clash.

“Wolves West Ham, I don’t know honestly,” Neville said.

“It’s got 1-1 written all over it,” Jamie Carragher replied, before Neville agreed with the prediction.

Jill Scott and Wright both agreed on a “West Ham win” with Wright mentioning Jarrod Bowen’s form away from home as a reason.

“2-1 West Ham,” Wright said, with Scott agreeing, before Roy Keane said he would “go with it”.

Wright then questioned his own decision because of chances missed which led to Neville storming off due to his indecision.

West Ham vs Wolves is a huge game

While it may not seem that way on paper, the game this weekend between these two sides is absolutely huge.

Wolves have been pushing for a top-half finish and a potential European place, while the Hammers are still pushing for a European place in the Premier League while competing in the Europa League too.

That makes this game big for the final standing in the season, but for David Moyes’ side it’s big for momentum ahead of a huge week.

The team will be taking on Bayer Leverkusen in midweek for a place in the Europa League semi-finals, and momentum is huge heading into that tie with the Bundesliga giants undefeated in all competitions this season.

Moyes will want a good performance from his players, but also to keep them fresh if he can for the best chance of success in Europe so Wolves will be ready to push them all the way.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to sign this Champions League defender and will offer him over £84k p/w.
