Gary Lineker loved what Danny Ings told BBC Sport straight after West Ham United win v Nottingham Forest
Danny Ings scored twice on his first start as West Ham secured a crucial 4-0 win against Nottingham Forest on Saturday (25 February) in the Premier League.
Gary Lineker has hailed him as a “proper” goalscorer (BBC Match of the Day, 25 February), but he loved what the striker had to say after the game. Ings said to BBC Sport that he gets disappointed for not scoring more goals in every game he has played.
Hammers skipper Declan Rice and striker Michail Antonio scored the other two goals, while Jarrod Bowen was outstanding during the game.

“He’s a proper goalscorer. I loved the comment there [BBC Sport] – at the end of the game I am disappointed, I didn’t get more goals, (in) every game I ever played,” said Lineker on Match of the Day (25 February, 44.48 mins).
Crucial win
Ings is a fantastic striker and he could prove to be a terrific signing for the club.
The former Southampton striker joined from Aston Villa during the January window, but it was his first start at West Ham.
The 30-year-old is a fox in the box, and he is a proven match-winner. The Hammers needed a player like him to lift the team, and he has done exactly that on Saturday.

If he gets the right delivery in the box, he is almost certain to score. The first goal was a typical poacher’s goal. Ings anticipated that Bowen might come up with a low delivery into the box, and he made a clever movement to finish from close range.
Said Benrahma was the main architect behind the second goal. It wasn’t a clean finish, but West Ham will take it. The Hammers scored three goals in seven minutes towards the end, and that proved to be the major turning point in the game.
