Gabby Agbonlahor predicts Jarrod Bowen ‘shame’, West Ham fans to be up in arms

West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen could potentially be left out of the 2026 England World Cup squad by Thomas Tuchel, Gabby Agbonlahor says.

The former Aston Villa forward doesn’t see the 28-year-old making the Three Lions team for the competition in Canada, Mexico and the USA next summer.

Bowen played for England in the 2-0 win over Albania in the World Cup qualifiers on 16 November, and it would certainly be surprising if the German manager snubs him.

Lucas Paqueta is another who’ll hope to play at the World Cup for Brazil, but it remains to be seen whether the Irons will be well represented at the tournament.

West Ham fans will rage at Thomas Tuchel for Jarrod Bowen axe

If Tuchel does decide to leave Bowen out of the England squad, Hammers fans won’t be pleased, Jeff Stelling says.

The English forward has made the Three Lions’ squad in the last three international breaks, and he will definitely be confident of playing a role in the 2026 World Cup.

While Bukayo Saka seems the first choice on the right-wing for the German manager, the Irons’ captain can certainly make an impact off the bench.

Speaking on talkSPORT on 17 November, Agbonlahor said, “Bowen, for me, I don’t see him going at all. A shame,” and Stelling responded, “Which West Ham fans will be up in arms about.”

There are some who believe Bowen is too good to stay at the London Stadium, but fans in E20 will argue the Hammers have turned the forward into the player he is today.

With the Irons fighting Premier League relegation this season, supporters will be glad that they managed to keep hold of the England international in the summer.

Nuno Espirito Santo has future England international at London Stadium

Freddie Potts is starting to fulfil his potential at the London Stadium, with the 22-year-old finally getting his opportunities.

After an impressive season on loan at Portsmouth, West Ham opted to keep the midfielder in the summer after extending his contract until 2029.

Graham Potter didn’t seem to have faith in Potts, but Nuno Espirito Santo has given him the opportunities to cement a place in the starting lineup.

The Englishman will undoubtedly grow from strength to strength at the London Stadium with the proper development, and an England call-up may not be far away.
