Full Daniel Kretinsky takeover of West Ham United unlikely this year

Daniel Kretinsky is highly unlikely to gain a majority control of West Ham United anytime in the next year, according to Claret and Hugh.

The Czech Republic businessman is already the chairman of Sparta Prague in his native country and bought a 27% share in the Hammers on 10 November 2021 to become a director at the London Stadium.

There had been widespread rumours that he was keen to buy more shares off GSB, the company owned by David Gold and David Sullivan that hods the rest of the control of the club, but they don’t want to sell.

Gold could be prepared to part ways with a portion of his control but not enough to see Kretinsky take full control as he wants to remain on the board of West Ham.

Sullivan is also considered highly unlikely to want to sell any of his shares which could also confirm that he has no intentions of funding any takeover of Birmingham City.

Status Quo

After the past couple of seasons we have enjoyed on the pitch, there won’t be many complaining that Kretisnky isn’t going to be given total control of the club anytime soon.

West Ham

The last thing we need right now is any one person taking full control and running the place like a dictatorship which could see us spiral into new depths that are scary just to think about.

Having three fairly similarly sized shareholders in the club is a blend that could work wonders for us with all three people having to come to an agreement before we make any kind of rash decision over the club’s future.

Our trajectory has only been pointing upwards since Kretinsky came into the club and the signings of Czech Republic stars Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal have already proved how good the relationship between us and that part of the world can be (let’s not talk about Alex Kral).
