‘Fatal’ – Karren Brady shares West Ham financial update during COVID-19 pandemic

Karren Brady has shared that West Ham United are losing £2million in every single Premier League match this season.

With no fans attending matches, clubs are missing out on ticket and corporate revenue – something which is clearly adding up.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed football dramatically, and even the pay-per-view model has been scrapped during the international break.

Speaking in an interview on Tuesday morning, Brady claimed that compared to others, the Irons aren’t half as struggling as other clubs.

“It’s fatal for everybody,” she said via the Evening Standard.

“West Ham are losing £2m a match in lost ticket revenue and corporate revenue. Some clubs are losing as much as £10million a match.”

Given Brady’s insight on other clubs, it appears at though the Hammers are financially sound, although this current situation is far than ideal for anyone.

It was a massive move to the London Stadium all those years ago, and we are missing a full stadium of Hammers fans in every single game.

Claret and Hugh shared an amazing update on Tuesday though.

They relayed news that the government have plans to re-introduce fans to stadiums in the Premier League and the EFL as early as next month.

At first, they would not be allowed to fill the London Stadium, but it would still be great to get any sort of gathering inside for matches.

That £2million loss would be smaller, and if that happens, by the end of the season, we could be back to normal – fingers crossed.
