Fabrizio Romano shares West Ham United transfer update amid links to Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka

West Ham, Wolves and Crystal Palace reportedly have not been given the green light to sign Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the three clubs have already enquired about the English defender, but the Red Devils are understood to be open to the idea of him staying.

The 25-year-old has found game time easier to come by post the World Cup with him starting in the absence of Diogo Dalot.

Via Twitter, Romano wrote, “Aaron Wan Bissaka has now chances to stay at Manchester United at least until the end of the season, as things stand.

“Wolves, Crystal Palace & West Ham asked for him in December but there’s still no green light.

“Man Utd remain in talks to extend Diogo Dalot contract.”

Move on

It makes no sense for the Hammers to be chasing a player that does not appear close to leaving.

Even if he will leave, it will again be complicated to sign him as Wolves and Crystal Palace are both keen on securing his services.

Instead, they must look at players available on loan and make those kinds of stopgap signings and we believe they’re wasting their time pursuing Wan-Bissaka.

The Manchester United right-back is not the most attacking of options anyway and David Moyes needs someone who can cross the ball properly.

Beating Everton does take some pressure off his back but he knows that he’s still in a relegation battle.

Hopefully, the West Ham board gets him a quality right-back and makes the decision to sack him if even after that he fails to deliver the results.
