Fabrizio Romano issues Manchester City update on Arsenal target and West Ham United ace Declan Rice
Fabrizio Romano has shared a major update on Manchester City’s pursuit of Arsenal target and West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.
The Sky Sports journalist has revealed City’s decision to pull out of the race to sign the 24-year-old after the Gunners bid for him.
Arsenal submitted their third bid for the England international who’s also been targeted by Manchester United, per the Guardian.
Via Twitter, Romano wrote, “Manchester City will NOT match Arsenal bid for Declan Rice. Decision made — as they are set to pull out of the race at the current conditions.
“Arsenal were very confident last night… and they remain very confident today, working on structure of the deal with West Ham.”
Last team standing?
It remains to be seen if Manchester United are pretenders or not as City have done their bit and it wasn’t enough.
They do not want to pay beyond the odds for Rice and it seems like Gunners have their path clear to sign the England international.
The payment structure appeared to be an issue but it’s now expected to be agreed upon as there’s nobody else willing to pay that kind of money.

Chelsea were linked with him earlier and they may be able to may the kind of money West Ham want for Rice.
Right now, it seems like there’s just one legitimate candidate and they’re from the north of London and not the north of England.
Hopefully, the Hammers can get what they desired because they’ve now lost their negotiating power with just one side in the race.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are already preparing to cash in on the Declan Rice money as they hold a transfer meeting in London as they’re confident of sealing a £50million signing.
