Fabianski to return to West Ham training this week – report
West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski will return to full training this week in a major fitness boost to the Hammers, according to Claret and Hugh.
Fabianski picked up an injury during the warm-up before his side’s clash against Everton as Irons fans sweated over the fitness of their number one.
However, it looks as though the Polish international won’t be missing any more action with his injury not as bad as first feared.
Claret and Hugh claim that a recent scan found no problems with Fabianski and he has been cleared to return to training.
The report also claims that second choice goalkeeper Darren Randolph is likely to start in next weekend’s FA Cup clash against Stockport.
This gives Fabianski extra time to recover and work off any remaining niggles ahead of the Hammers’ Premier League tie against Burnley the following week.
Fabianski was yet to miss a moment of the Hammers’ Premier League season before the Everton game as he has once again proved to be a hugely important player for West Ham.
Incidentally, Randolph had barely a save to make at Goodison Park as Carlo Ancelotti’s men thoroughly underwhelmed.
This clean sheet was vital as the Irons won by a narrow 1-0 margin courtesy of another important goal from Tomas Soucek.
The Stockport clash presents a perfect opportunity for David Moyes to give some of his key players a rest after a hectic festive schedule.
The non-league side should pose no threat to the Hammers and resting Fabianski for this game would be a good move, especially if he is carrying any slight injury.
Randolph did his job against Everton and he shouldn’t face much of a challenge against Stockport.
