Fabianski & Benrahma back – Confirmed West Ham starting XI to face Leeds
West Ham have made two changes to their starting XI to face Leeds United in a Premier League clash at the London Stadium tonight.
David Moyes has brought back Said Benrahma to replace Ben Johnson, as we revert back to a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Confirmed on the club Twitter account prior to kick-off, number one Lukasz Fabianski is also back in the side. He missed the last game due to an elbow injury. Jarrod Bowen remains on the bench as Pablo Fornals continues his good form in midfield.
The talking point beforehand was who would play in goal for the Hammers. Fabianski was a surprise omission from the side that lost to Manchester City last weekend, but it’s great to see him back in the XI tonight.
Darren Randolph came into the side, but it has been reported since that he’s been suffering from a hip injury.
It left many fans wondering if third choice keeper David Martin would be included in the XI for this evening. Martin hasn’t played a single minute of football for West Ham in the 2020/21 campaign.
The Hammers are looking to move back up the table having slipped down to seventh spot since last kicking a ball.
Spurs’ 4-1 victory last night over Crystal Palace moved them above us on goal difference. We can go back above them and open up a three-point-gap with a win.
Leeds are looking to continue their push for the top ten. The newly-promoted side have performed well this season and are seemingly safe from the drop already. They haven’t won in London for three years, so will be keen to take home three points.
When the two sides met in the reverse fixture, West Ham left Elland Road victorious. Tomas Soucek and Angelo Ogbonna scored to give us a 2-1 win having gone behind to an early penalty.
In other West Ham news, Mark Noble is set to sign a new one year deal with the club.
