ExWHUemployee: West Ham United deal for Nayef Aguerd now in doubt

West Ham United have seen their move for Rennes defender Nayef Aguerd plunged into doubt on Thursday as he failed to show up to Rush Green, according to ExWHUemployee.

The reliable source has reported that the Morrocan was supposed to show up to Rush Green and then complete media duties, with the media team now going home.

West Ham are said to still be pushing the deal forward and may have rebooked the formalities for Friday and Saturday as they try their best to finalise.

Writing on his official Patreon page on Thursday evening [16 June], Ex shared the crushing news that could bring all of this deal to an end.

“We have been told by two sources now that Aguerd did not turn up to the training ground today and the media team have now gone home,” he wrote.

“At this point, the deal is obviously in doubt but the club are doing their best to try and get it over the line. There is talk that the process has now been booked in for tomorrow and Saturday but we are waiting confirmation of this and where we stand with Newcastle’s interest.”

Crisis.

Only this could happen at West Ham.

With Aguerd basically in the bag with everything sorted, he has now failed to turn up at Rush Green and the deal is now in doubt, it is so bad that it doesn’t even surprise us anymore.

Dharmesh Sheth even reported in the past 24 hours that 50% of the medical had been complete, but with this latest incident, that could mean nothing at this stage.

Newcastle are clearly sniffing around, and their interest could be used as bait to try and secure more money for the player and for the agent.

David Moyes will be scratching his head thinking that his first major signing of the summer should have been done by now but instead will go home empty-handed.

There are bound to be many more twists and turns in the coming hours and days, and hopefully, the Irons can turn this around and secure Aguerd to a long-term deal.

If not, where did it all go so wrong?

In other West Ham United news, the Irons have been offered the chance to sign this £12.8million goal machine after his club was relegated.
