ExWHUemployee: West Ham plot loan move for Ruben Loftus-Cheek

West Ham United are plotting a loan move for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek ahead of Tuesday’s summer transfer deadline, reports ExWHUemployee.

David Moyes is an admirer of the 25-year-old England international and is looking to bring him to London Stadium in the coming hours if possible.

Loftus-Cheek is out of favour at Stamford Bridge, and a temporary exit could be on the cards before the window shuts.

Writing on the West Ham Way Patreon while providing the latest update on RLC, the trusted Hammers insider said: “I believe the main target for a loan is Ruben Loftus-Cheek of Chelsea. Moyes is said to be a big fan and hopes the player can turn his career around.

“His injuries will have to be monitored carefully, however. There could be an option to buy clause included.”

Fine option

Injuries have prevented the Blues box-to-box academy graduate from fulfilling his potential, and it appears that the Hammers are ready to take the punt on him.

Loftus-Cheek spent last season on loan at Fulham, playing 30 Premier League games, and it is safe to say that he was fit all campaign.

West Ham have Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek as options in central midfield, with the soon-to-retire Mark Noble providing cover.

Moyes needs a quality long-term replacement for his skipper, and RLC could be that man if everything goes right.

The Chelsea man will be keen to receive promises of playing regularly before moving anywhere, though, and despite playing in four competitions, there are no assurances that would be available at the London Stadium.

The Irons are not going to be the only top-flight teams interested in recruiting the services of Loftus-Cheek on loan, and it will be intriguing to see where he ends on Wednesday morning.
