ExWHUemployee: West Ham open talks with striker over summer move
West Ham have reportedly opened talks with another striker as they look to sign a talisman once the window opens.
According to ExWHUemployee, the Hammers have started working ahead of time to secure a move for a number nine and have already initiated contact.
While he has not named the player, he has spoken about their interest in Ollie Watkins and Armando Broja so it could be someone else.
He said, via his Twitter account, “There is also another forward we have spoken to this week but I am planning to cover this on podcast as news some stories for my section there.”
Intrigue
There have been a number of strikers linked with West Ham over the last six months.
Since they failed to sign one last summer, the rumour mill has been in overdrive and this time around, signing one is imperative.
The fact that they’ve opened talks with one suggests that they have amplified their interest and are keen on discussing personal terms with the player.
It’s important that they get their business done as quickly as possible as many clubs are likely to enter the race then.
However, knowing West Ham, nothing happens quickly and there are unnecessary delays for every little thing.
Even last summer, the club waited until the final weeks of the window to do something and they cannot afford to make the same mistakes again.
