ExWHUemployee: West Ham are unaware about links with Nicolas Tagliafico
West Ham are unaware of recent reports linking them with a move for Ajax ace Nicolas Tagliafico, according to ExWHUemployee.
Dutch website De Telegraaf reported on Monday afternoon that both clubs have reached a verbal agreement over a £10.3million move for the 28-year-old Argentina international.
They go ahead to report that Tagliafico’s agent is currently in Amsterdam to get a move done, but West Ham and the player are yet to agree to personal terms.
It appears the club are not in the know about the deal, with ExWHUemployee, a trusted insider, writing on the West Ham Way Patreon while providing an update on the left-back: “Club are unaware where the Ajax left-back rumours have come from and have said to me they don’t have the money to buy any more players after Nikola Vlasic.”
Agent-inspired talks?
West Ham are expected to get one or two more deals done before the summer transfer window shuts on Tuesday night, and it appears someone is trying to get Tagliafico to move.
Some transfer news are often inspired by agents trying to get better deals for their players or trying to engineer a move.
Additionally, journalists do not always get it right whenever it comes to transfer updates, and it appears those at De Telegraaf have something mixed up.
While the Irons could do with a new left-back to provide quality cover for Aaron Cresswell given Arthur Masuaku’s injury history, it does not look like they are keen on Tagliafico.
ExWHUemployee hardly gets his scoops wrong, and it is safe to say that West Ham will not be moving for the Ajax star in the coming hours.
They clearly do not have additional funds to splash from the look of things, but they could be open to more loan deals, and the Eredivisie giants are not likely to be keen on that.
In other West Ham news, England international wants to join Irons before August 31 deadline.
