ExWHUemployee reveals why Pablo Fornals did not play for West Ham
ExWHUemployee has revealed on his personal Twitter account why West Ham midfielder Pablo Fornals was not involved in either of the Hammers’ pre-season friendlies tonight.
West Ham have played two games against Northampton Town and Leyton Orient, respectively, and Fornals was not involved in either squad, which led to some Hammers fans questioning where he was.
However, it appears as if there is nothing to worry about as the Spaniard is still on leave from international duty. The 25-year-old was called up in June ahead of the Euros, due to an outbreak of the pandemic in the Spain squad, and it looks as if he has been given extra time to recover [Football.London].
Wise decision
Despite the fact that Fornals did not play in any of the Euros, giving him a little bit of extra time off will not hurt and should allow him to be even more rested ahead of what could be an intense season for the former Villarreal man.
The Hammers have a Europa League campaign to compete in this season as well as a Premier League one, and given just how much Fornals played last season, the more rest he can get, the better.

West Ham don’t start their Premier League campaign until the 15th of August, so the Spaniard has plenty of time to gain the match fitness he will require for this season.
The most important thing is that Fornals is not injured, and judging by what Ex said, it seems as if he is fine.
Hopefully, he comes back and helps West Ham push on this season in both the league and Europe.
