ExWHUEmployee provides update on West Ham pursuit of Patson Daka
ExWHUemployee believes that reports claiming Patson Daka a done deal are a tad premature despite the Hammers being strongly in the running.
On his West Ham Way Patreon podcast, the insider addressed the speculation saying that the Hammers are keen on bringing the Zambian to the club, but are not the only side interested in the player’s services.
However, he believes that the player’s agent Freddie Kanoute, who is a former West Ham player, would encourage Daka to move to the London stadium this summer.
ExWHUEmployee said, “Whilst there has always been an interest in Patson Daka and he was someone that we have scouted and enquired about in the past, I believe talk of him joining the club is premature
“One good thing that we have in our favour is that his agent is former Hammer Freddie Kanoute who loved his time at the club and would encourage a move.
“Whilst we are meant to be keen on the player I believe there are other clubs, including Liverpool who are much further down the line with this potential signing.”
Sign him soon
Recently, Zambian journalist Hugo Zoff, who’s the chief editor of Africa Insider, reported that Daka confirmed to him that he is on his way to a European club this summer.
While he went on to confirm that West Ham are slight favourites, it’s still early days in the chase, and the London side have a long way to go before they can sit easy.
Daka is a proven goal scorer with trickery and a phenomenal engine on him. He’s as capable of running the hard yards and closing down opposition players as he is in finding the back of the net.
His numbers this season suggest that he’s already outgrown the challenge he has been posed at RB Salzburg.
The Zambian has bagged 27 goals and seven assists in 28 league games this season – showing just how lethal he’s been in front of goal.
Signing him would go a long way in addressing our striking woes, and it’s believed a fee in the region of £17m would be enough to secure his services. [Daily Star]
