ExWHUemployee: Kurt Zouma will return for West Ham v Newcastle

Kurt Zouma will return to the West Ham side to take on Newcastle in the Premier League on Saturday (February 19), claims ExWHUemployee.

The France international was set to play in the Leicester game, but was not named in the matchday squad due to illness.

Ex states that it was a sickness bug that kept him out of selection and that he will be available for selection for their next game.

Speaking on the West Ham Way podcast, he said, “According to the club, he had a sickness bug, so he would be available for the next game against Newcastle. It usually takes six days to recover, given how bad it is but he should be available for selection.”

Good news

The defence looked threadbare over the weekend in Zouma’s absence.

Amid all the backlash and calls for him to be dropped, they may have got their way and it resulted in the Hammers failing to secure maximum points.

Should Zouma come back into the squad, the Irons will instantly get a lift before the whistle has even been blown.

Not only is he exceptional technically, but he’s also a terrific organiser and is known to put his body on the line for his side.

Moyes knows that whenever he’s available there’s no chance that he can be left on the bench.

His arrival has buoyed the Hammers and few players around him have also improved thanks to his arrival.
