ExWHUemployee: Jesse Lingard wants to stay at Manchester United due to family reasons

Jesse Lingard is not likely to join West Ham United before the summer transfer deadline due to family reasons, reports ExWHUemployee.

The Hammers are keen on bringing the Manchester United attacking midfielder back to the London Stadium this summer, and the feeling is mutual.

However, while a move cannot be completely ruled out, the 28-year-old England international is likely to remain at Old Trafford beyond Tuesday.

West Ham

Writing on the West Ham Way Patreon while providing the latest update on the Red Devils star, the trusted Hammers insider said: “Lingard talks have been ongoing because he sees Moyes as a mentor and through other people (players) at the moment he is unlikely to join but things can twist.

“This is largely due to family commitments in Manchester and wanting to stay there.”

Fair enough

West Ham fans have wondered why Lingard has not been willing to return to the London Stadium all summer, and it appears they now have their answer.

The return of Cristiano Ronaldo was expected to trigger his exit at the Theatre of Dreams as he had struggled for playing minutes this term prior to the Portuguese’s arrival.

However, that is not likely to happen as the attacker wants to remain with his family in the city of Manchester.

The Hammers are closing in on a move for CSKA Moscow attacking midfielder Nikola Vlasic, with the Croatian set to complete a deal in the coming hours [ExWHUemployee].

With the move for the former Everton man on the cards, it is safe to say manager David Moyes is ready to end his pursuit of Lingard.

Vlasic is coming to help bolster West Ham’s attack, and a deal for his English counterpart would be seen as no longer a necessity.

Things could change any moment, but Lingard joining the Irons is all but off.
