ExWHUemployee: Jesse Lingard demands high West Ham United wage with no transfer fee needed

ExWHUemployee has shared that Jesse Lingard has used the fact that West Ham United don’t need to pay a transfer fee to demand higher wages.

The Irons are looking at their former loanee on a free transfer after his contract finally came to an end at Manchester United after years of disappointment.

Ex has reported that the basic wage demand of Lingard is around a top-level of £140,000-a-week, but bonuses and add-ons could take that up to £180,000-a-week.

Writing in his latest update on the West Ham Way Patreon page, Ex shared the latest update on the demands of Lingard for any potential move.

“In terms of Lingard’s wages I have asked around a bit more and the figure I was given of £180,000 is that ultimate end figure which would include various bonuses and signing-on fees,” he wrote.

“The basic wage is lower than that. Approximately £125-£140,000 which would make him the highest-paid player at the club. The player has used the fact that there is no transfer fee to be able to demand higher wages.”

Be smart.

David Moyes certainly needs to consider his options before making this one official.

There are many questions that need to be answered, with the first one simply being is that worth it?

Lingard set the London Stadium alight after his loan move from Old Trafford, but that was seasons ago now and there are no guarantees that he would do the same again.

This time it is for big, big money and that has to be justified, although getting the likes of Andriy Yarmolenko, Mark Noble, Ryan Fredericks and David Martin off the wage bill would easily cover that cost.

We seriously question whether Lingard really wants this move, though, given he has had months to decide if he really wanted to stay after that loan switch, he would have done.

The Hammers need those willing to go the extra mile for the shirt, not those coming just for a pay day.
