ExWHUemployee: David Moyes and Sullivan to decide on Kurt Zouma deal

West Ham manager David Moyes and David Sullivan will hold talks over a final decision on a deal for Kurt Zouma, according to ExWHUemployee.

The Chelsea centre-back held a medical in France yesterday after both parties reached an agreement, but the Hammers are concerned about his knee.

That has put a final agreement on hold for now, with the boss and chairman now set to talk over what the final say would be.

Writing on the West Ham Way Patreon while providing the latest on Zouma, Ex said: “The club would always want a ‘trusted’ doctor’s second opinion hence why the whole medical in France in my opinion was odd as I knew the club wouldn’t trust that.

“This has now been confirmed and following a second consolation from other professionals, concerns have developed regarding the player’s knees!.

“The deal is not off at this point. Talks with the manager and the chairman will decide the direction of this deal.”

Scary

West Ham are aware they will be taking a risk if they decide to ignore the results of the medical and go ahead with signing the France international.

Zouma has not been injured for a while since hurting his knees and spending many months recuperating following surgery.

However, nothing is guaranteed, and the Hammers will not be forgetting in a hurry how taking a punt on Jack Wilshere backfired.

Despite the injury history of the former Arsenal midfielder, West Ham opted to sign him, and things did not end well.

Andy Carroll is another case that is still very much fresh on the Irons minds, and they will be taking their time and weighing the cons and pros before deciding what to do with Zouma.

His recent fitness level is optimistic, and Moyes would likely still want a deal to get done.

Sullivan could have other ideas given the experience with the aforementioned duo, and nothing is assured yet as far as sealing this deal goes.
