ExWHUEmployee confident Jesse Lingard will choose West Ham if allowed to leave

West Ham insider EXWHUEmployee has claimed that Jesse Lingard will choose the Hammers should he leave Manchester United and has not decided on his future yet, contrary to earlier reports.

On Saturday, The Sun stated that Lingard made his intentions clear to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he wanted to stay at Old Trafford.

However, the West Ham insider has revealed there’s no truth in that, still expecting Lingard to sign for the Hammers if put up for sale.

He said on the West Ham Way podcast, “Jesse Lingard will hold talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over his future at Man Utd.

“Lingard does love West Ham and if he does leave United he would choose us. However, it will depend on what intentions Solskjaer has for him.”

There’s still a chance

Without reading too much into it, it basically looks like if Ole is willing to guarantee him a first-team berth he’ll stay.

However, given how stacked Man United’s squad is and the fact that they have Donny van de Beek to serve as Bruno Fernandes’ understudy tells you that they’re not short on options.

It has also been reported that Juan Mata is likely to extend his deal if he’s willing to take a pay cut – giving them an extra player in that position. [The Sun]

Lingard’s arrival at West Ham led to him being in contention for the England EUROs squad. Had he been at Old Trafford, he would’ve not even dreamt of making the team.

We only hope that the talks with Ole go in our favour and the player is on his way out of the club once and for all.
