Ex-West Ham maverick named in Cole Palmer’s ultimate five-a-side team

Cole Palmer named an ex-West Ham midfield star in his ultimate five-a-side team.

The Chelsea superstar shared his thoughts on the club’s official X account as he named four players who would play alongside him.

Palmer has scored two goals in four games against the Hammers in the Premier League, yet he has looked up to this ex-Hammer from a young age.

Thibaut Courtois, Neymar Jr, and Lionel Messi were included in the side, as well as the former West Ham player.

Ravel Morrison features in Cole Palmer’s dream five-a-side team

Ravel Morrison played 24 games and scored five goals for West Ham in a career that started with much promise.

All of the 32-year-old’s goals were scored in the 2013-14 season, this being the time he made a name for himself in the Premier League.

Palmer, who was previously linked with a move to West Ham, was born in the same Manchester suburb as Morrison, Wythenshawe.

Before moving to East London, the Englishman was an academy product at Manchester United and won the FA Youth Cup with them in 2011, as well as making three senior appearances with the club.

The Hammers’ former number 15 made 16 appearances in first Premier League season and scored an iconic goal against Tottenham Hotspur in a 3-0 victory at White Hart Lane, which went on to win the club’s goal of the season.

It has been over a decade since the midfielder last played for West Ham, but Morrison has kept with ties with the club.

Ravel Morrison’s post-West Ham career

Once he left East London, Morrison’s career took him to multiple countries around the world.

Outside of the UK, the 32-year-old has played in Italy, Mexico, Sweden, the Netherlands, the USA, and the UAE.

He currently plays for Precision in the UAE Second Division League alongside ex-Premier League player Matthew Lowton and Harry Arter.

The midfielder played international football for England U21s, earning four caps and scoring two goals, but in 2020, he switched allegiances to Jamaica and made his senior international football debut in a 3-0 loss against Saudi Arabia.

Morrison claimed he did not want to leave West Ham, and although his time with the club came to an abrupt end, supporters are still left with the brief memories of him dazzling at the Boleyn Ground.
