Everton vs West Ham preview: Team news, expected lineups, score prediction

West Ham United are in desperate need of a victory as they travel to Everton on Monday night.

The pressure on Graham Potter increased again after West Ham fell to a 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace at the London Stadium, leaving the Hammers second bottom of the Premier League.

David Sullivan isn’t expected to part ways with Potter until the October international break, but his hand could be forced should they lose big against the Toffees.

West Ham team news

Niclas Fullkrug could return to the West Ham side to play Everton after he recovered from an injury sustained on international duty with Germany.

Callum Wilson was ineffective against Palace as the Hammers accumulated an expected goals of 0.68 at the weekend.

Crysencio Summerville has been a bright spark for West Ham this season and is expected to continue on the left side with El Hadji Malick Diouf.

In midfield, James Ward-Prowse has been blasted by West Ham fans for his poor form and looks set to be given a final opportunity by Potter, which could cost the 50-year-old his job.

The ex-Southampton man could be joined by Guido Rodriguez, who could make a rare appearance for the Hammers.

West Ham’s backline have struggled all season, and Alphonse Areola is expected to continue in goal after replacing Mads Hermansen at the weekend.

Potter ruled out Aaron Wan-Bissaka for last weekend’s defeat to the Eagles, but the defender could return in place of Kyle Walker-Peters, who has struggled to get going this season.

Predicted lineups

Everton: Pickford, O’Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko, Gueye, Garner, Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish, Beto

West Ham: Areola, Diouf, Mavropanos, Kilman, Wan-Bissaka, Rodriguez, Ward-Prowse, Summerville, Paqueta, Bowen, Fullkrug

Prediction: Everton 2-1 West Ham

Moyes has yet to beat Potter in all competitions, but Monday’s game seems the perfect opportunity to put the record straight.

Sullivan has caused plenty of upset over the last 18 months, and frustrations are again set to boil over into the game against the Toffees.

The Hammers have conceded the most goals in the Premier League with 13, and with Jack Grealish on the opposition’s side, the Hammers look set to concede even more.

Everton will be keen to return to winning ways, and there is little hope that the Hammers can stop them.
