‘Enjoyable to watch’ – Robbie Savage praises transfer policy of West Ham this season

Robbie Savage has admitted his enjoyment watching West Ham United this season in the Premier League.

David Moyes has guided the Irons to a magnificent start, despite many tipping them for failure after their tough start and defeat against Newcastle.

Savage has heaped praise on the Hammers’ recruitment policy, claiming the signings of Said Benrahma and Tomas Soucek has been excellent business.

Writing in a report for the Mirror, Savage rated the start of West Ham this season as 4.5/5, which is a near-perfect score, of course.

“I like the recruitment,” he wrote.

“Tomas Soucek has been a good signing, Said Benrahma has quality and when Jarrod Bowen cuts in off the right flank and shifts the ball on to his left foot, he reminds me a bit of Chris Waddle or Gareth Bale.

“The Hammers have been enjoyable to watch.”

It is great praise for the likes of Bowen and Benrahma.

Soucek has been an obvious candidate for Player of the Year, so it is great for the wide-men to receive plaudits, especially when it was a clear area that Moyes looked to improve ever since he arrived.

Only Michail Antonio has attempted more shots on goal than Bowen according to WhoScored, and all he has been missing in recent weeks is that goal.

Moyes unleashed Benrahma against Leeds, and the Algerian was superb. If that is what we can expect more of than the Irons have secured a bargain.

The Irons won’t have been realistically targeting European football, but after this start, it will be a realistic goal should they string more wins together in this next fortnight.
