Emerson Palmieri, Nayef Aguerd and Gianluca Scamacca doubftul for West Ham United clash v Southampton – David Moyes
West Ham could be without Emerson Palmieri, Nayef Aguerd and Gianluca Scamacca for their clash with Southampton on Sunday (2 April), says David Moyes.
The Hammers head into the Premier League clash sitting in the relegation zone following the international break, while Southampton are the team sitting rock bottom in the table.
With manager Moyes under big pressure for his job if they don’t get a win in this game according to reports, he will be without three of the players he signed during the summer transfer window to bolster the squad through injury.

When asked about team news for the game during his pre-match press conference, as quoted by Football.London (31 March), the boss revealed some niggling problems in the squad.
“[We are] Pretty good, we’ve got a couple of illnesses and a little odd injuries,” he said.
“Emerson has had a bit of sickness, Aguerd has got a grumbly hip and Scamacca has felt his knee.”
Blow
All three injuries are a big blow to this current West Ham side, simply because of a lack of options and also because they’d all looked good recently.
Emerson had finally made the left-back and left-wing back positions his own with good performances, while Nayef Aguerd has quite comfortably been the club’s best central defender this season.

When you then take a look at Scamacca it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get him back into the team after scoring in his last outing in the Europa Conference League before going away with Italy.
But now it seems unlikely that any of the three will play and that will mean Moyes’ options for the game are not only more limited, but also of a lower quality than he would have liked.
Danny Ings will likely start against his former club up front in Scamacca’s absence, while Aaron Cresswell could be recalled at left-back with a back four likely to be selected.
