Eintracht Frankfurt fire shots at West Ham ahead of Europa League clash

Eintracht Frankfurt’s Twitter admin has sent a swipe at West Ham ahead of their Europa League clash at the London Stadium on Thursday [April 28].

David Moyes’ side welcomes the German outfit for the first leg of their semi-final doubleheader.

The Bundesliga side’s social media team have fired at the Irons, claiming that they are in the “shadow” of the rest of the other “heavyweight” teams that play in the capital.

They tweeted: “Now hammer the hammers.

“This is our upcoming opponent in the semifinals of the Europa League. This is West Ham United FC.

“About a club in the shadow of the London heavyweights enjoying a recent boom.”

Classless.

Do club’s around Europe not have any class? Lyon similarly took aim at the Hammers ahead of the quarterfinal clash and look what happened to them.

The Irons are going to have to go and embarrass the Germans on their patch as well it seems.

You see a lot of this with social media teams trying to get as much reach as possible with their posts but the real work is done on the pitch and that is all that Moyes and these players will be concerned with that is for sure.

The Scot might be able to use it to fire the players up because it is quite disrespectful but the Hammers players won’t even need those types of tactics – they will be right up for this one.

It is going to be very tough with Craig Dawson the only fit senior centre-back in the squad but they have successfully battled their injury issues at every turn on their journey to the semi-final and should be able to deal with this one too.

Three games stand between those in claret & blue and a European trophy. Hopefully, they can write their names in history.

In other West Ham news, a BBC pundit has slammed Moyes’ harsh criticism of one key West Ham man.
