Edson Alvarez and Emerson injury updates emerge ahead of West Ham United v Fulham clash
West Ham duo Edson Alvarez and Emerson have not been named in the playing XI and have not made the squad against Fulham.
Sun journalist Jordan Davies has reported that both of them are suffering from illnesses and have thus not made the cross-city trip to Craven Cottage.
Alphonse Areola also continues being out of action with a wrist injury so Lukasz Fabianski starts in his stead.
Via Twitter, Davies wrote, “Blow for #WHUFC with Alvarez not in the squad and Emerson on the bench, both suffering with illness. Fornals and Cresswell in. Fabianski still in goal with Areola struggling with a wrist injury that saw him miss Spurs.”
Big blow?
Alvarez has hit the ground running at the London Stadium and he surely was one of Moyes’ first names on the team sheet had he been available.
Even Emerson normally starts for the Hammers and not having both of them will be significant.
Missing Areola is also going to be a big one so that’s three players who normally would’ve started for the Hammers.

However, this does not mean that the Hammers are not in good shape ahead of the game and are still favourites.
Pablo Fornals starting his first game since the opening weekend offers a breath of fresh air and it remains to be seen who will lead the line for the visitors.
Both Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen make compelling cases and we fancy them to have the bulk of the goal-scoring chances for West Ham later on Sunday.
In other West Ham news, Aston Villa want to sign an international Hammers player and things aren’t going well for him currently.
