Door opened for West Ham to seal Kurt Zouma deal

Chelsea will no longer include Kurt Zouma in a deal to sign Jules Kounde, opening the door for West Ham United.

Telefoot journalist Julien Maynard reported the news on Wednesday, with the Irons now the priority for the Frenchman.

It is suggested that if Zouma can’t agree a move to the Irons, he will remain at Stamford Bridge next season.

Writing on his personal Twitter account this morning, Maynard shared the major update on the future of the defender.

“Kurt Zouma is not heading to Sevilla,” he wrote.

“He is not included in the deal for Jules Kounde. His priority is to stay in the UK. If no agreement is reached with an English club, he could stay at Chelsea for another year.”

Priority.

Bringing in a defender is a priority move for the Hammers.

David Moyes wants to replace Fabian Balbuena quickly, and both Zouma and Nikola Milenkovic are the names mentioned.

ExWHUemployee shared that the Irons edged closer to agreeing personal terms with the Frenchman yesterday, and expected more progress today.

With other competition now off the table though, the door is well and truly open for both the Irons and Zouma.

If the Chelsea man wants a move and regular football in the Premier League, West Ham is the club for him.

Hopefully, with this now off the table, all eyes are on a move to the London Stadium and this can be concluded before the season gets underway in less than two weeks.
