We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Ham...

West Ham midfielder Edson Alvarez will be available for the game against Arsenal on December 28 despite recent issues, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

David Ornstein reported on 10 December that a number of players had been impacted including the Mexican.

Claret and Hugh then claimed on 15 December that he picked up a knock against Freiburg and was an injury doubt for the game after that.

Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said: “He would’ve needed minutes off the bench to keep building up his fitness but the fact he played 90 minutes suggests he was fine.

Will have certainly been monitored closely.

There was an illness issue behind the scenes too which he was affected by but all of that has been taken care of and he appears to be fit for the upcoming games.

Alvarez has been an exceptional signing for the Hammers and despite being an injury doubt, he was there for the games after it.

The Mexico international has played 15 league games this season and has been among the first names on the team sheet for David Moyes.

He’s even formed a seamless understanding with James Ward-Prowse at the heart of the Hammers midfield.

In other West Ham news, the highest source at the Hammers has issued an update on a 2023 award winner to replace David Moyes as a sack update emerges.
